Life On Mars

A new TV series trailer, recently shown on ABC Australia. There's a guy, driving and listening David Bowie's Life on Mars in his car using iPod. A moment later, he stopped, jumped out from the car and got hit! Hit by a speedy car fully frontal to his body. This TV series has the same name with Bowie's 1970s' song, Life on Mars.



Life on Mars, like many of American series, has an imagination to be sold to its logical-to-be audiences. The guy hit by the car is not dead of course, as he's actually the main character in the movie. Magically, he can stand up after the hit. Walks toward his car. And finds out that the music played through his iPod turning its form into an old cassette. It's the old-idea story about someone living in the past. He is back in 1970s. Safe and sound.

I actually knew the song firstly from Anggun. And just didn't realize that it was originally made more than 3 decades ago! Anggun for me, is the right representation for the song. She's an alien in Paris. As I am an alien in this Down Under world.

Many crossroads we must have faced in our lives. Sometimes, we are sure to take a brave step passing those crossroads. The other day, we just need to be more careful, choosing which path should we take. But, what if, you face such a big crossroad that can change your life forever? And it's not only about right or wrong path. It's about sacrifice and happiness. It's about destiny and surrender. It is devotion. And all of its consequences.

In this land of alienation, somehow I enjoy being an alien. Without those same problems, pressures and saddening old stories. But I (supposed to be) know that it's actually just like my hideaway. Very temporary. I intended to really calm myself down here. Before really find the answer to pass that 'big crossroad'. My time is actually almost up. And I still haven't figured out the answer. Though my past is now coming here. And yet, I still haven't got the answer.

Why it is so hard to go through this crossroad?

If only there was really life on Mars, maybe I could find the answer more easily. Or, it's just my other way of running and hiding? The casts of Life on Mars might know nothing but good money if the debut series accepted by people on Earth. Even more by the Alien on Mars.
